Thanks for using WebMate from Budgetext of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Using your web browser (i.e. Microsoft Internet Explorer) from your mvBASE
Windows server, click on the following link: Version V.082307
Please understand that the file names presented here will change with future
updates. The files and version are named based on a 6 digit name. So, this
example has 102401, meaning October 24, 2001. As enhancements are added and
revisions are made, this version number will coincide with the release
date.
Once you've clicked on the above hyperlink, you'll be presented with a dialog
box similar to this:

You will want the radio button Save this program to disk clicked. Then,
click on the OK action button.
You will then be presented with the Save As dialog box similar to this:

Please make sure your Save in: is C:\ which is the root directory of
your C: drive. Please also take note of the File name: area. This should
read WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE. The x's representing the current release version
as explained above. Now click on the Save action button. You will be
presented with a dialog box similar to this:

Now click on the Close action button. You may now also close your web
browser software.
Now open Windows Explorer and direct your display to the C: drive and
the root directory. Scroll down until you locate the file WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE.
You should see a dialog box similar to this:

Depending on how you have your Windows Explorer setup, you might click once or
twice on the WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE file. This is a self-extracting WinZipped
file. You should first see this dialog box:

Please click on the OK action button and you will be presented with this
dialog box:

Please take notice of the Unzip to folder area. This should read C:\ .
At this time, please click on the Unzip action button. You should now
see:

Click on the OK action button and you will be returned to this dialog
box:

Now just click on the Close action button.
Using Windows Explorer, you should now see the file: WEBUPDxxxxxx.VTF.
This is an mvBASE virtual tape file. If you don't see this file, please call
support and stop with this procedure. You may now close Windows Explorer.
From this point forward, you will be using
AccuTerm, mvTERM, dumb terminal, or whatever your mvBASE connection might be.
[cr] indicates that you hit the Enter or Return key on your
keyboard.
First, logon to WEBMATE.
At TCL, type: LISTU[cr]
Please do 2 things. Make sure you are logged on to WebMate. Make sure NO
one else is logged on to WebMate.
Also log off any EMAIL_PHANTOM processes before continuing.
At TCL, type:
T-SELECT 11[cr]
(any number typically between 4 and 11)
SET-TAPEFILE C:\WEBUPDxxxxxx.VTF[cr]
(remember the xxxxxx represents the current release number)
T-ONLINE[cr]
T-LOAD MD (O)[cr]
(as you know, this is the letter 'O', NOT the number '0'
zero)
WEBMATE-LOAD[cr]
the screen will clear and you will be presented with:
LOAD-WEBMATE
This load procedure requires that the account - PICLAN-IP be
installed. Okay to proceed ? (Y/[RETURN]) Y[cr]
The rest is automatic. Programs will compile and all new enhancements and
features will be installed.
Now anyone can log back on to WebMate. Enjoy !
One additional note. I strongly suggest DELETING the '.exe' and the '.vtf'
items from your server directory using Windows Explorer once the update is
complete. This will help maintain a cleaner environment for future downloads.
