Please print or read all of the following before clicking on the Version V.xxxxxx link to begin the Budgetext WebMate Upgrade process. Please email me with any comments or suggestions regarding this upgrade process.

Thanks for using WebMate from Budgetext of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Using your web browser (i.e. Microsoft Internet Explorer) from your mvBASE Windows server, click on the following link: Version V.082307

Please understand that the file names presented here will change with future updates. The files and version are named based on a 6 digit name. So, this example has 102401, meaning October 24, 2001. As enhancements are added and revisions are made, this version number will coincide with the release date.

Once you've clicked on the above hyperlink, you'll be presented with a dialog box similar to this:

You will want the radio button Save this program to disk clicked. Then, click on the OK action button.

You will then be presented with the Save As dialog box similar to this:

Please make sure your Save in: is C:\ which is the root directory of your C: drive. Please also take note of the File name: area. This should read WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE. The x's representing the current release version as explained above. Now click on the Save action button. You will be presented with a dialog box similar to this:

Now click on the Close action button. You may now also close your web browser software.

Now open Windows Explorer and direct your display to the C: drive and the root directory. Scroll down until you locate the file WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE. You should see a dialog box similar to this:

Depending on how you have your Windows Explorer setup, you might click once or twice on the WEBUPDxxxxxx.EXE file. This is a self-extracting WinZipped file. You should first see this dialog box:

WinZip Self Extractor

Please take notice of the Unzip to folder area. This should read C:\ . At this time, please click on the Unzip action button. You should now see:

Using Windows Explorer, you should now see the file: WEBUPDxxxxxx.VTF. This is an mvBASE virtual tape file. If you don't see this file, please call support and stop with this procedure. You may now close Windows Explorer.

From this point forward, you will be using AccuTerm, mvTERM, dumb terminal, or whatever your mvBASE connection might be.

At TCL, type: LISTU[cr]
Please do 2 things. Make sure you are logged on to WebMate. Make sure NO one else is logged on to WebMate.

Also log off any EMAIL_PHANTOM processes before continuing.

At TCL, type:

SET-TAPEFILE C:\WEBUPDxxxxxx.VTF[cr]
(remember the xxxxxx represents the current release number)

T-ONLINE[cr]

T-LOAD MD (O)[cr]
(as you know, this is the letter 'O', NOT the number '0' zero)

WEBMATE-LOAD[cr]
the screen will clear and you will be presented with:

LOAD-WEBMATE

This load procedure requires that the account - PICLAN-IP be
installed. Okay to proceed ? (Y/[RETURN]) Y[cr]

The rest is automatic. Programs will compile and all new enhancements and features will be installed.

Now anyone can log back on to WebMate. Enjoy !

One additional note. I strongly suggest DELETING the '.exe' and the '.vtf' items from your server directory using Windows Explorer once the update is complete. This will help maintain a cleaner environment for future downloads.

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call before you act.
